HR Manager

Our client is a medium-sized non-banking financial services company engaged in the sole business segment of financial services. It’s a start-up in the western suburbs of Mumbai.

They hold a licence from the RBI to operate as an NBFC and are listed on the stock exchange. The company intends to commence lending operations from April 1, 2024, and is in the process of recruiting the necessary personnel.

Main Purpose of Role

A human resource manager organises, oversees, and coordinates the organisation’s people management tasks and processes. Their duties include supervising and leading the regular activities of the Human Resources dept and they are the point of contact for all matters involving employees. They are responsible for managing tasks like recruitment, performance evaluation, and talent management. A strong HR team with skills in talent acquisition, retention and culture building is integral to enabling these objectives.

Key Responsibility

  • Put the organisation’s talent and human resources strategy into action
  • Provide guidance and assistance to the HR team, management and other personnel as needed
  • Supervise the hiring process for qualified job candidates, particularly for managerial, specialised, and expert positions
  • Work with division managers to determine the qualifications and abilities needed for open positions
  • Review policies and processes to ensure compliance with all the applicable employment laws and regulations
  • Handle disciplinary proceedings, terminations, and investigations involving employees
  • Determine and recommend changes to internal standards of conduct, such as team restructuring and morale boosting
  • Provide clarity and connectivity for employees, so that their responsibilities fit the overall corporate strategy
  • Championing the onboarding process for all new employees
  • Establish and implement orientation and training programmes to help with recruitment efforts and to get employees equipped for their duties
